Please take a moment to read the attached article, which appeared on the front page of the Bergen Record and the New Jersey Herald on Sunday, May 5, 2024. We are so grateful to each and every person working in the Union City School District who contributed to this achievement, and we should all be immensely proud of our district’s accomplishments!
We all pulled together during the pandemic to ensure that our students continued to receive the best education and services possible, and seeing results like these proves what we are capable of!
We extend our very grateful thanks to our Mayor/State Senator Brian P. Stack for his unfailing support of our youth, to our board members for their tireless efforts, and, especially, to our wonderful employees, administrators, faculty and non-instructional staff for their dedication to our students.
Most of all, a very special thank you to our Superintendent of Schools, Silvia Abbato, whose leadership is the source of our success.
Estamos encantados de anunciar que, una vez más, los esfuerzos del equipo de nuestro distrito han dado sus frutos. Según el Education Recovery Scorecard, una colaboración entre las Universidades de Harvard y Stanford que examina la recuperación académica después de una pandemia, el Distrito Escolar de Union City tuvo la menor pérdida de aprendizaje en todo el estado de Nueva Jersey durante la pandemia de COVID-19 y, mientras que la mayoría de los distritos tuvieron dificultades con la lectura entre 2019 y 2022, ¡el rendimiento de lectura de nuestros estudiantes mejoró!
