“A Community School – Achieving Excellence Together”

Welcome parents, families, and community members to the Thomas A. Edison Elementary School website!  The Edison Community is committed to working together to provide a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment to ensure the academic success of ALLstudents.  As our Edison Vision and Mission states:

“Thomas A. Edison Elementary School is committed to establishing a positive physical, social and emotional environment that is learner-centered, research-based and data driven.  We will provide resources for essential support of instruction in conjunction with the Common Core State Standards.  We will do so through shared leadership in order to enable staff, students, families and community to work together to be active participants in student learning and achievement."

"We value the diversity of our students, and believe that all children are to be valued for their unique gifts.  We believe in offering all children the opportunity to reach their potential through a rigorous curriculum.  With a focus on balanced literacy and strong mathematics, we are committed to best practices and strategies that address individual needs, continuous improvement, and provide guidance to help students become self-directed, critical thinkers and responsible citizens."

At Thomas A. Edison Elementary School, we have an exceptional teaching and support staff that works tirelessly for the benefit of each and every student.  The faculty at Edison School will prepare students to be lifelong learners, effective communicators and wise decision makers.  Edison School will maintain an environment that promotes intellectual challenge, creativity, social and emotional growth and the healthy physical development of each student.

In addition to our exceptional staff, we have a very involved community filled with parents, families, and community members that support our students.  Through the support of our parents and community, all students are able to enjoy monthly assemblies, field trips, technology in the classroom, new supplies and books, and much, much more!

We look forward to working together for a successful 2013-2014 school year with great achievement for all of our Edison School students.

Sincerely,
